Fast Five is a new Bad Pitch Blog feature where we bring you five links or five-question interviews—all of them will probably pertain to our favorite subject—bad pitches and how to avoid them.

1) The Care & Feeding of Tech Media Media Guerilla
This is actually a link to a link, but Media Guerilla is written by uber-smart Mike Manuel. Non-tech PR folk will also enjoy this blog for insight into smart media relations and the actual application of social media.

2) 15 media relations tips by PR professionals and journalists India PR Blog
Straight from New Delhi, Hobbit Hob provides us with some tips I like and some I disagree with for United States media relations. But PR follows rules based on each countries local culture. Something to keep in mind.

3) Five ways to use YouTube Ubiquitous Marketing
PR Week Editor Keith O’Brien brings us these tips. The media offering PR tips?! You might want to take notes.

4) Animal’s PR Bible Media Orchard
Scott Baradell finds some great tips straight from editors’ mouths. Our favorite: “The main thing to get coverage is to have a good story. If it takes more then 10 seconds to explain, forget it.”

5) The Realities of Making Appointments at Trade Shows
Alan Weinkrantz PR Weblog
The good news about trade shows? The entire industry is under one roof for a couple of days. The bad news? The entire industry is under one roof for a couple of days. It’s media relations as a full-contact sport.
