Peter Shankman created HARO on Facebook and this media relations tool has grown into a free media source matchmaking service with more than 14,000 members. Peter has a really big tool, but he wants your help in making it bigger.
What?
Here’s the deal. The more reporters that use HARO, the more valuable it is for you. So tell your media contacts about HARO.
If you frequent social networks today, you’re sure to see a lot of member statuses that say “Get Sourced. Get Quoted. Get Famous: http://www.helpareporter.com – Putting Journalists and Sources together, one quote at a time.” One of HARO members came up with this smart, simple idea to leverage the 14,000 members in promoting the service. So what are you waiting for? Stop by, sign up and pass it on. All the cool kids (getting media coverage) are doing it.

That's an amazing site.
ReplyDeleteI read about it on here yesterday and signed up for the emails. On the very second one I received, someone was looking for exactly what one of our clients offers.
Currently in the process of getting a national TV hit ironed out!
Good service but heavily promotional for the provider. Genius veiled PR by Peter Shankman.
ReplyDeleteAnd today he publicly called out two PR folks for spamming and then booted everyone from their company from using HARO. It's lean times for lazy flacks around here...
ReplyDeleteHARO rocks. I'm hooked.
ReplyDeleteI signed up to help me track all the opportunities to help my promote my award winning board game GiftTRAP
http://www.gifttrap.com/
And also our Facebook app

I've already has 3 bites from journalists and bloggers.
One thing I like is its not just journalists and bloggers that are using it. It also covers "give-aways" and I even saw American Express seeking items for the Holidays gift list.
I hope it keeps growing and that more journalist adopt it.
I LOVE HARO!
ReplyDeleteI read your article on (HARO) Help A Reporter Out. I created a video on the subject and I thought I would send it. Here is a blip.tv rendition http://www.creativeendeavors.blip.tv/#1123448 or a You Tube version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23biQbZjWBk that you can share with your readers and even embed in your blog. Each give you code to do just that.
GO HARO!
