Help a Reporter Out and Bad Pitch Blog? OMG we’re like BFF!

Peter Shankman and I spoke to a sliver of HARO’s near 30,000 members yesterday about better media relations.

A flood of new folks are reading Bad Pitch Blog as a result, so I thought I’d post our top 20 posts according to AideRSS as a helpful review. The posts are from 2007 and 2008 so it looks like the content here is getting better.

  1. I just wanted to thank you for your time yesterday. Your down to earth advice to pitching was great to hear. Although I play with smaller players then American Girl and YooHoo the information is just as valuable. Thanks again and I hope to stumble less frequently.

I'm a Senior and PR student at the University of Georgia and my current internship is helping a new business launch their fist blog/learn about social media. They've been pressuring me about "pitching blogs" to get people reading their blog. My answer is to tell them that they need to build up their blog more and start relationships. These are some great resources and I'm definitely going to use them to drive the point home.

  3. I believe that the posts are getting better on the blog because blogging has evolved and become a more acceptable media outlet. Like it was said earlier traditional newspapers are dying. People want the information now. As it has evolved people better realize that blogging has become a more thought out media outlet. Do you think blogging will replace some other traditional forms of media?
